Sports mouthguards
The majority of injuries involving teeth and mouths are caused by sporting activities.
Wearing a custom-made mouthguard can simply and effectively reduce the risk of sustained injuries of the jaw and teeth sixty fold.
A custom-made sports mouthguard is made by taking an impression of the upper and lower jaw. The mouthguard, which is made of silicone and is exceptionally elastic, is then fabricated in a dental laboratory.
A mouthguard which is perfectly fitted to teeth and mucous membrane offers the best protection against injury and is very comfortable to wear.
The German Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine recommends that mouthguards are worn when practising the following sports:

- baseball, basketball
- ice hockey, field hockey
- football, handball
- inline skating, riding
- gymnastics
